Hassan Ali Khan

I am a fourth year PhD student at NC State University, and am advised by Dr. Guoliang Jin and Dr. Muhammad Shahzad. I am interested in democratizing the technology and make it accessible for everyone (e.g., Human-Computer Interaction for Development (HCI4D and algorithmic auditing of commercial gig-economy platforms like Uber and Airbnb). I am also passionate about helping people with physical and mental disabilities using technologies (e.g., Assistive technologies, exergames, and serious games). I also feel excited about working on operating system related problems (e.g., state retention in IoT and deterministic multithreading).
I work on developing novel algorithms to understand and analyze the public data of famous web platforms, efficient and reliable multithreading, and assistive technologies. I also develop public tools to provide real-time analyzed information of various gig-economy platforms for researchers from different scientific fields to collaborate and study these platforms in varying socioeconomic regions.
